1995-1999 - diplomatic assignment: Chargé d'Affaires and Counsellor of the Polish Embassy in Dar-es-Salaam;
since 1999 - Chairman of the Polish Association of African Studies;
since 2000 - member of the Editorial Board of Afryka, bulletin of the Polish Association of African Studies;
since 2001 - Chairman of the Council of Africa (advisory body to the Minister of Foreign Affairs);
15th-22nd April, 2002 - lectured the course on Swahili language at the Universidade Nova, Lisbon (Erasmus teaching programme);
February, 2002 - presented the paper "New developments of language policy in Africa" at the symposium on education in Africa organised by Polish Association of African Studies and Uniwersytet Kardynała Stefana Wyszyńskiego. Since Febuary 2003 Ambasador in Luanda.
