The African Studies Research Group of the University of Warsaw

The Group was established in 2004. It is open for all University of Warsaw students interested in African issues. The main aim of organisation is popularisation and spreading of knowledge about Africa, its societies and their cultures. The members of ASRG UW have an opportunity to raise funds for reseach projects in Africa.

 

The Group is also publishing a scientific journal "African Rewiev". Usually the articles are both in Polish in English.

 

ASRG UW organises cultural events, i. a.:

 

  •  Days of Africa Festival

During the festival there are many activites such as workshops (music, dance, language), debates, lectures and coferences.

 

  • Film Festival "Faces of Africa"

African and non-African films on African issues are presented.
